Cosplay Competition
Join us for an exciting Cosplay Competition showcasing the creative and passionate cosplayers from our community!
This competition is all about celebrating the joy of cosplay, especially for those who are learning, experimenting, or doing it for fun. As this is a family-friendly event, we’re focusing this contest on non-professional cosplayers.
If you make a living from cosplay or attend conventions as an invited cosplay guest, we kindly ask that you don’t take part and help us cheer on the rising stars instead. Your support helps make this a positive experience for everyone!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
• A sign-up form will be located at the information desk in the foyer – participants must be signed up no later than 12:45 pm
• Participants should arrive at The LINK by 12:45 pm to check in for the competition.
COMPETITION FORMAT:
• Participants will be lined up in a running order so they can be announced and credited properly.
• Each cosplayer will walk the stage to show off their costume to the audience.
• Audience interaction is encouraged - the louder the cheers, the better!
• There will be two age categories - 12+ and under 12's.
• There will not be a winner for the under 12’s category – it is just a fun opportunity for younger guests to show off their costume!
JUDGING CRITERIA:
• Each participant in the 12+ category will receive a score from 0-10 from our judges, comprised from the criteria below:
Accuracy (if based on an existing character)
Originality (for unique designs)
Craftsmanship (for handmade elements)
Showmanship (for how they bring their character to life on stage)
PRIZES:
• Bragging rights as the community’s top cosplayer!
• The winner of the 12+ category will receive a special prize, to be announced on the day.
• All participants in the under 12’s category will receive a small prize for taking part, as no winner will be chosen.
